The Far East Film Festival 22 will be held from 26 June to 4 July

UDINE, 1 marc 2020 (MOREL) – In view of the health situation in Northern Italy, the Centro Espressioni Cinematografiche di Udine has agreed, together with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Comune di Udine, to postpone the twenty-second edition of the Far East Film Festival until the beginning of summer – from 26 June to 4 July, to be exact.

Focus Asia – the FEFF's Industry Days – will be held from 29 June to July 1. The twelfth edition of Asia-Europe co-production workshop Ties That Bind (from 28 June to 2 July) has been confirmed, along with the brand new section Far East in Progress, which is the first and only European platform dedicated to Asian films in post-production.

“Public health is our most precious asset,” comment Sabrina Baracetti and Thomas Bertacche, the festival's founders, “and the situation demands that we make responsible choices. We're glad to have received the full support of the institutions and of the Teatro Nuovo, the FEFF's historical headquarters. We can only underline the climate of profound solidarity between the various organizational bodies: a collaboration has already been organised with Trieste for the ShorTS International Film Festival, which will take place on the same dates.”

Also confirmed is the double tribute to Filipino actor and director Eddie Garcia (the Kirk Douglas of Southeast Asia) and to the eccentric cinema of the Watanabe brothers: Jim Jarmusch-esque director Hirobumi and Yuji, creator of the splendid soundtracks of all their movies! (ends)
