Cortina d’Ampezzo (BL), 13 February 2021(MOREL) – Day 7 of the World Championships in Cortina. On the morning of the men's downhill, the Frecce Tricolori rolled out the world’s longest flag above the finish area of the Vertigine track. An exciting show in the heart of the Queen of the Dolomites, filling the sky above Cortina with the Italian colours, over the majestic Tofane. Today's was the first fly over of 2021 but also a return to the Ampezzo Valley after more than 40 years. It was January 7, 1981 when the Frecce Tricolori spread the tricolor fumes during the opening ceremony of the World Bobsleigh Championships.

Today's performance was paired with the fireworks launched from the Faloria refuge last night. A unique fireworks display created thanks to the collaboration with the Friulveneto Srl Pyrotechnic Plant, a leading supplier of pyrotechnic art. (ends)
